ESCAPE THE ZOOM

Escape the Zoom is a 1-2 hour escape-room game, played on videochat, for virtual teams to connect, bond and play together.

Originally created in April 2020 for Columbia University when COVID-19 first hit, Escape the Zoom was played by approximately 600 students over the course of a week.

96% of the student participants said that they were extremely satisfied with the event.

And we think you will be, too.

SO WHAT’S THE PREMISE?

You and your team find yourself captured in a trap, created by Zoom, the Columbia mascot’s evil twin brother. He’s been kept hidden away inside a cage his whole life while Roar-ee has been adored and loved by all. So now he’s taking his revenge. Can you solve the clues, decipher the codes and figure out how to escape? In this online escape game, you must work with your team to Escape the Zoom.

Grab your friends and sign up as a team, or sign up as an individual and we’ll match you with some new friends to play the game with. If you’re signing up as a team, you can choose how many people you want to play on your team, as long as there’s at least three players.

All you need to play the game is your computer, your cell phone, a Zoom videochat room (or video chat platform of choice), and your teammates.

Hear from past participants at Columbia University:

My team and I had SO much fun. This was really well put together and the ability to do it on our own time was really great as well too. —Jenny
I played with friends last night and we loved it. The game was just the right difficulty, not too easy but we never got stuck. We finished in just under an hour and were very proud of ourselves. —Caroline
Escape the Zoom was one of the most enjoyable activities I have done during this time. We were all in different time zones but were still able to put our heads together and problem-solve through the puzzles, and we finished in under an hour! —Maria
